Citronella Essential Oil: Citronella is commonly used as an insect repellent (mosquitoes and fleas) but also helps with excessive perspiration (when applied topically) and fatigue (when inhaled). Citronella has a lemon-like aroma with a bitter kicker. Citronella is most well known for its use in candles for use outside to discourage mosquitoes from biting. If you are making an anti-bug candle, be sure to use at least 1.5 ounces of essential oil per pound of wax. Citronella (the component that bugs don’t like) is higher in our Java variety of Citronella compared to Ceylon Citronella.
