Heavy Metal Gold Mica: This bright gold has the slightest shimmer to it and looks amazing in clear melt and pour soap. Check out some soap Anne-Marie made with our Heavy Metal Gold Mica here. This mica also makes a neutral looking eye shadow with a little pizazz. We can’t get enough of our Heavy Metal Gold! To create the color in the sample of melt and pour soap above, we used ½ teaspoon of colorant (about 0.15 oz before dispersing) in 1 pound of soap.Note: Because of the bronze powder this mica can cause DOS (dreaded orange spots) in your soap.
To use this mica in Melt and Pour Soap: Wet the mica with rubbing alcohol until a liquid slurry is made. This usually is about a 1:1 mix of mica and rubbing alcohol. Add the desired amount of the slurry to the melted soap and stir to combine.
Safe for use in eye shadows

Terah from Bramble Berry replies...Hi Christina! You're right! The Heavy Metal Gold Mica does bleed in cold process soap. This is because of the reaction between the lye used in CP and the bronze (metal) in this colorant. To know for sure something will not bleed on you check out our Non-Bleeding section of colorants For Cold Process Soap. A great substitute for gold in a non-bleeding color for CP would be our Yellow Oxide Pigment!

Hi Jordan! I'm sorry this product wasn't your favorite. We've found it results in a beautiful gold in melt and pour soap. I'll be emailing you personally to help troubleshoot!
