Pennant Soap Project

Make the large banner say any word or phrase you like from 'Happy Birthday' to Your Business Name. Then use the small soap flags for personalized messages or pricing for your products!

How to Make the Large Pennant

For the Large Pennant:

  • White Cardstock
  • String or Ribbon
  • Double Stick Tape or Glue
  • Scissors
  • Color Printer

ONE: Print out the letters you need for your personalized word or phrase (We've included each letter of the alphabet in this file).

TWO: Cut out each pennant leaving a flap along the top edge. The shorter edge will be on top with the point facing down.

THREE: Fold the white flap to the back of the triangle.

FOUR: Lay your string or ribbon across the fold. Apply glue or double stick tape to the flap and fold down. Repeat with each letter. TIP: Make sure you are stringing your letters in the right reading order!

FIVE: Hang your pennant banner with pride!

To Make the Soap:

ONE: Melt the Clear melt & pour base and add a few drops of color and fragrance to your prersonal preference.

TWO: Pour into Scallop molds, filling about halfway up.

THREE: Add a few drops of the same color and fragrance into the melted white melt & pour base.

FOUR: After the first clear layer has a thick skin, spray it with rubbing alcohol and then pour the white melt and pour base over the clear layer, taking care that the white soap is not above 130 degrees.

FIVE: Allow to set-up for four hours or until the soap is completely solid. Remove from molds.

Is this your first time layering melt & pour soap? Watch our Soap Queen TV episode on layering for in-depth instructions and tips.

To Make the Soap Pennants:

ONE: Print out the small pennants on cardstock. We've provided a 2 page PDF file. On page one you'll find some of our favorite fragrances and fun phrases while page two is a blank canvas for you to fill in with your own wording.

TWO: Cut out the individual pennants.

THREE: Fold the pennant in half and write your message on one or both sides.

FOUR: Unfold the pennant and flip it over on its back (blank part up). Add a thin line of Elmer's Glue from tip to tip (a glue stick or double stick tape would work as well).

FIVE: Then carefully fold the pennant around the top of a  skewer and squeeze the paper together until the backs adhere. Let dry.

SIX: Stick in your soaps and display with pride!
