Tips on using Foaming Bath Butter

You can play with the foamy bath butter to achieve a whipped, soft soufflé-like consistency. Simply put your stick blender into the middle of it and beat until volume increases. But don't over-beat it -- if you get the foaming butter much larger than double, you'll find that you have a collapsed soufflé! Add your fragrance or essential oils during this whipping process.

The pH of this foaming butter is very low (5.5) and is very mild to the skin.

Alternate instructions for using Foaming Bath Butter:

1. Remove product from the plastic bag or container from which it was delivered in.
2. Transfer to a suitable vessel equipped with a heating and cooling facility and agitator.
3. Gently heat the product to 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees C.) and when melted, start the agitator. Do not let your butter get over 140 degrees.
4. When fully mixed, add dye and additives.
5. Cool to approx. 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees C). The butter will turn solid at approximately 113 degrees Fahrenheit.6. Add fragrance.
7. Pour into suitable containers with continuous stirring.
8. Allow product to solidify.

**Under no circumstances should this product be discharged at temperatures higher than 140 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees C.); 118 degrees F is the preferred temperature. At temperatures below 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees C.), the product hardens.

* Liquid Oils - Adding any liquid oil (avocado oil, hazelnut, sweet almond oil) in 2 oz. amounts to 16 oz. of butter makes a more moisturing wash, suitable for faces and sensitive skins.

* Sugar or Salt - Add your sugar or salt to the point of saturation. Once saturation has been reached, the additional sugar or salt added will remain in crystal form and act as an exfoliate. Saturation is *a lot* so make sure to add more than you think you need.

* Fragrance - Foaming Bath Butter will accept up to 5% fragrance or essential oils. We recommend usage levels of 1-2% of total weight. (this means that in 16 oz. of product, you will want 1/3 of an ounce of fragrance).

* Colors - Use our True Tones or Liquid Soap Colorants.

* Pumice - Use our blue pumice to make a unique and visually interesting scrub!
