Special Hands Artists is a two year old group of entrepreneurial women of different abilities and disabilities. It was started by two friends who had lost their jobs. They pooled resources to start their own business. Special Hands Artists design and make hand molded and painted, melt and pour, soap, body lotion and bubble bath as well as greeting cards and painted flower pots. The pottery Hand Soap Dishes featuring Gardener's Soap (a hemp base with lavender buds and orange fragrance) were one of their first products. The soaps are beautiful as well as a delight to use. The Valentines Boutique which featured heart and dove soaps (from Bramble Berry Molds) sold out!
April Watkins (shown in the picture) is a 30 year old with Downs Syndrome. She loves her soap making and painting. Other's in the group love pottery, and designing greeting cards. Being able to do what they love, increase their skills, and make some money is the goal of these special artists. We are always looking for new members and new retail opportunities.

group coordinator & April's mother
