BRILLIANT!

I used LabColors for the first time to make the bathtub crayons and I loved them. I only make melt and pour soap and I do a lot of embedding. The Brilliant Blue LabColor is my favorite, although I love them all. In melt and pour soaps, I use one drop at a time to achieve the depth of color I want. I've colored 50 ounces of liquid soap with a mere 6 drops of blue and it was fabulous. I'm going to try some other colors but for now I have all the primary ones. I highly recommend them for use with clear melts.

Purple man soap

For a company that focuses so much on CP soap, I wouldn't expect this common confusion. It definitely turned 5 lbs. of men's soap purple. With so many people with the same confusion, I think this product should be renamed or changed.

Hi Heather! Thank you for your feedback! I'm sorry you were disappointed in this color. The Brilliant Blue LabColor will turn a purple in cold process soap, as seen in the sample picture above. If you're looking for a blue LabColor in cold process, I would recommend the Azure Blue High pH LabColor or the Royal Blue LabColor if you have a high olive oil content recipe (it will also turn purple otherwise).

Turns CP soap pink!

LabColors are generally reliable colorants but be warned, this "Brilliant Blue" turns CP soap pink! I thought at first that the chart supplied for LabColors simply had a misprint where the color pink was beside the description for LabColors Brilliant Blue. Alas, it is no error. My "Blue Skies" soap turned cotton candy pink. Perhaps this color should carry a different name, one that is not misleading. Apparently it does stay a "Brilliant Blue" in melt and pour soap.

Hi Barbara! I'm sorry this color wasn't your favorite. This color will morph to pink in cold process soap. You can see what each color will look like in this Digital LabColor Blending Chart. It does create a beautiful blue in melt and pour! I'll be emailing you personally to discuss this.
