pink not purple

I was looking for lavender to lilac color for a lavender soap. This was pink, and seemed exactly the same as the berry colorant I got to make a rose soap. This was for a large order for a customer who wants a specific color, and I have wasted a lot of money and have soap I can't sell her. I normally don't use colorants, and don't sell them under my own name, so am out of luck and cash here. Very disappointed. Do not recommend for purple of any shade.

Hi Elizabeth! I'm sorry this product wasn't your favorite. We've found it creates a pinkish purple in cold process, and a nice dark purple in melt and pour, as seen in this Violet Glitter Gradient Tutorial. Also, because of the violet dye in this color it is really important to mix it up well because the violet dye can settle. I'll be emailing you personally to help troubleshoot!

Easter Purple ended up as Storm Cloud Grey... Looked okay as I poured it in the mold, but the next day, it was really sad!

Hi Christine! Purple can look gray when it is first mixed, but it will change colors as it continues to gel. You can read more about that in this LabColor FAQs page. I'll be emailing you personally to discuss this issue!
