This E-Wax is a generic version of our very popular Polawax Emulsifying Wax. Like Polawax it is NF (National Formulary) and in our tests works wonderfully for combining oils and water into a stable emulsion. Physical appearance is a mixture of pastilles and an irregular, waxy flake. Usage varies based on the combination of thickeners, but a normal usage rate as a single emulsifier will be 25% of the weight of the oils in your recipe. Ingredients:Botanical Name: Cetylstearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60Common Name: Emulsifying Wax
I've used this wax in my whipped sugar scrubs and in my body butters with great success. Mixes well and holds nicely.
I tried using this in my body butter instead of polawax and I had to throw out the entire batch. All was fine when the lotion was warm, but after cooling in the jars it did not mix. The top part of the cream was gunky and the bottom was water. I will go back to using polowax.
I bought this wax a few months ago and used it to make a lotion. It's been over a week and the mixture has completely separated and not thickened at all. What a waste of perfectly good, expensive ingredients!
This is the perfect wax for making lotions. I find it doesn't make my lotions gritty it makes them just perfecto and silky!
Will buy more in the future when I run out! :)
Pls l'd like to know the ratio of Polysorbate 80 in Emulsifying Wax
