Lavender 40/42 Essential Oil

I just received this oil, and it smells very strongly of mint. I think the bottle was possibly mislabeled as lavender? I was going to use this oil to make the Rosehip Melt and Pour soap, but I decided to leave it out since it didn't smell right.

My Go To Lavender for Soap

This is my go to Lavender for all my soaps. Whether it's CP or MP, it performs the same every time. That's what I like about the 40/42 is that it's consistent smelling from year to year. I've tried the 30/32, but much prefer the 40/42 as it's not as sweet smelling. For leave on products, I might go with a different Lavender like the French or Bulgarian. But for soap, I always stick with this one. Brambleberry is the only supplier I use for this EO.

I was stuck on what lavender EO to buy, and ended up getting this one. I'm so glad I did! Such a relaxing, pure scent. Works wonderfully in all my products. Will buy again.

Best lavender I've used

I'm not a big fan of lavender, but it's an excellent blender and a gotta have EO for its health benefits. I've tried two other brands of lavender from different suppliers and they were awful compared to BB. This is the best lavender I've found and I will continue to buy from BB.

Hi Terry! I'm sorry you're disappointed in this scent and fading after the cure. We love the Lavender 40/42 Essential Oil and found it to stick well in cold process soap with a strong scent when used at 0.8 oz per pound, found using our Handy Dandy Fragrance Calculator.
