Work fast!

This fragrance was really artificial when I was working with it, and accelerated so fast I had to start plopping. Now that my soap is cured, the fragrance is a lot more mild and tolerable! Just wish I made the swirl I had planned for it

Hi Terry! I'm so glad you liked our Red Apple Fragrance Oil after the cure! We do choose all of our fragrance oils based on a full 6 week cure time because some scents really do need that time to become something special. I'm sorry you had troubles working with it though. This fragrance does accelerate in cold process soap as noted on the product page. To help slow this down, take 1 oz. (basically equal amounts of fragrance oil to fixed oil) liquid oil out of your recipe and heat it up to 100 degrees. Then, add your fragrance into this oil. This simply dilutes the fragrance oil’s initial acceleration. You can also add the oil/fragrance mixture earlier than usual. Rather than adding the fragrance at a thick trace, you can add it at the first sign of thin trace. Always hand stir the fragrance/oil mixture in with a fork/ladle and never, ever use a hand blender for problem oils. Lastly, raise your temperatures to about 110 to 115 degrees. This will help to keep your mixture more liquid than at a lower temperature. If it does start to rice you can try using your stick blender to help smooth the soap out as seen in the Soap Behaving Badly blog post.

The best Apple fragrance I've ever found!

I have tried all the other apple fragrances that I could find and I was just about to give up on an apple soap until I found this one!! It smells just like an apple and holds very nicely in CP soap! I have added a little mint to it and the customers are loving it, too!

Love this scent!

I used this with the Foaming Bath Whip and clear glycerin soap to make frosting for a soap cake. It smells so fruity and wonderful. It smells like fresh apples when you stand near the cake pieces. The fragrance performed wonderfully in the mix. Will keep this one on hand!

Perfumey

The scent is very artificial. To the point where I'm wondering if I just got a different one than everyone else because it's very perfumey and not at all like a real apple. Reminiscent of an apple, maybe, but nothing like what I expected. My mother complained when I was soaping with it because of the smell. Kids do like it though.

Hi Amanda! I'm sorry this scent wasn't your favorite. We love the truly apple scent of our Red Apple Fragrance Oil with both red and green apple notes to bring in a bit of tartness. If you're looking for other apple scents you may like Tart Apple Fragrance Oil, Crisp Apple Rose Fragrance Oil, or Applejack Peel Fragrance Oil.
