Eucalyptus Shower Steamer Project

Project Description
For this recipe, we went with eucalyptus essential oil and a touch of lavender 40/42 essential oil. The soft lavender notes round out the strong eucalyptus notes to create a blend that's both invigorating and calming. Find all our natural essential oils here.
To use the steamer, place it on the shower floor or shelf. It should be in a place where it will come in contact with water, but not directly in the shower stream. This, plus a touch of kaolin clay, will help it fizz more slowly.

You will need:
- 6 Disk Molds
- 16 oz. Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)
- 8 oz. Citric Acid
- 0.5 oz. Kaolin Clay
- 10 mL Eucalyptus Essential Oil
- 6 mL Lavender 40/42 Essential Oil
- Witch Hazel in a Spray Bottle
- Dropper
Follow these steps:

In a large bowl, combine 16 ounces of baking soda, 8 ounces of citric acid, and 0.5 ounces of kaolin clay. To get rid of clumps in the mixture, you can push the powders through a sifter or break them up with your fingers. Citric acid has a tendency to take off nail polish, so wear gloves to protect your manicure. Thoroughly stir everything together.

Add 10 mL of eucalyptus essential oil and 6 mL of lavender 40/42 essential oil. Use your hands to fully incorporate them into the powder.

Test the consistency of the mixture. It should feel like wet sand and hold its shape when squeezed. If it’s too dry, use one hand to spritz the mixture with witch hazel and one to mix. Continue spritzing until the mixture holds its shape.

Firmly press the mixture into the Disk Molds. Allow the steamers to dry for several hours or up to overnight. Remove and enjoy.
