Project Description

If you love crystals and sparkle, this project is for you!

If you love crystals, this project is an easy way to incorporate them in the bath. Bath salts make great gifts and they can be customized with any skin-sake fragrance oil and mica of your choice.

First, Amethyst Fragrance Oil and polysorbate 80 are thoroughly mixed in with the salt. Polysorbate 80 is an emulsifier that helps the mica disperse throughout the tub more evenly. Then, the batch is split and coated with mica and glitter.

You will need:

  • Four 8 oz. Bail Jars
  • 32 oz. Sea Salt, Extra Coarse
  • 6 mL Amethyst Fragrance Oil
  • 3 mL Polysorbate 80
  • 1/2 tsp. Fine Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter
  • 1/2 tsp. Snowflake Sparkle Mica
  • About 1/16 tsp. Shamrock Mica
  • About 1/16 tsp. Lavender Mica
  • About 1/16 tsp. Rose Gold Mica
  • About 1/16 tsp. Caribbean Blue Mica
  • Dropper

Follow these steps:

1

In a large mixing bowl, add 32 ounces of extra coarse sea salt. Add 6 mL of Amethyst Fragrance Oil and 3 mL of polysorbate 80. Use your hands to thoroughly mix.

2

Add 1/2 teaspoon of Snowflake Sparkle Mica and 1/2 teaspoon of Fine Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter. Use your hands to mix thoroughly, making sure the salt is evenly coated.

3

Split the batch into 4 equal containers - each one should have about 8 ounces of salt. To each container, add about 1/16 teaspoon of Shamrock Green, Lavender, Rose Gold, and Caribbean Blue micas. Mix in the colors thoroughly.

4

Transfer the bath salts to bail jars. To use, add a handful of salts to a hot bath and enjoy.
