Project Description

This project is designed by Katie of Royalty Soaps! It's made with fresh and tropical Bali Breeze Fragrance Oil.

This Bali Bubbles Soap is created by Katie of Royalty Soaps. It's scented with Bali Breeze Fragrance Oil, which is the perfect tropical touch for these colorful bars.

Before making the base, melt and pour embeds are created in the Small 9 Ball Silicone Mold. We recommend using LCP Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base, which has less glycerin so it's less prone to sweating. Lots of Lather Quick Mix gives you plenty of time to create the drop swirl.

You will need:

  • Embeds:
  • Small 9 Ball Silicone Mold
  • 4 oz. LCP Clear Melt and Pour Soap
  • Hot Pink Mica
  • Aqua Pearl Mica
  • Base:
  • 5 lb. Wood Mold with Sliding Bottom
  • Silicone Liner for 5 lb. Wood Mold
  • 54 oz. Lots of Lather Quick Mix
  • 7.8 oz. Lye
  • 17 oz. Distilled Water*
  • 3.5 tsp. Sodium Lactate (optional)
  • 4 oz. Bali Breeze Fragrance Oil
  • Titanium Dioxide
  • Snowflake Sparkle Mica
  • Aqua Pearl Mica
  • Hot Pink Mica
  • Kermit Green Mica
  • Yellow Mica
  • Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter

Follow these steps:

MAKE THE EMBEDS

1

Chop 2 ounces of LCP Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base into small uniform cubes. Place them in a heat-safe container and melt in the microwave using 10-15 second bursts. Once the soap is melted, add 1/4 tsp. of Hot Pink Mica and mix well. Pour the soap into the Small 9 Ball Silicone Mold. Allow it to fully harden and cool for about 1 hour. Remove from mold.

2

Repeat by chopping another 2 ounces of LCP Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base, melting in the microwave, and adding 1/4 tsp. Aqua Pearl Mica. Mix well and pour into the Small 9 Ball Silicone Mold. Allow to cool and harden for about 1 hour. Unmold and set aside.

MAKE THE BASE

FRAGRANCE PREP: In a glass container, measure 4 ounces of Bali Breeze Fragrance Oil and set aside.

COLORANT PREP: Measure 3/4 teaspoons of Aqua Pearl Mica and Hot Pink Mica into separate small containers. Measure 1 teaspoon of Kermit Green Mica and Yellow Mica into separate small containers and set aside. Note: If you prefer to disperse your colorants, mix the amounts above with 1 teaspoon each of lightweight liquid oil and use a mini mixer to get rid of clumps.

SAFETY FIRST: Suit up for safe handling practices. That means goggles, gloves, and long sleeves. Make sure kids, pets, other distractions, and tripping hazards are out of the house or don’t have access to your space. Always make soap in a well-ventilated area.

1

Slowly and carefully add 7.8 ounces of lye to 17 ounces of distilled water. Gently stir until the lye has fully dissolved. Set it aside to cool. Optional: Add 3.5 teaspoons of sodium lactate to help the bars harden more quickly.

2

Fully melt the entire bag of Lots of Lather Quick Mix until it’s completely clear. Shake the bag to mix. Measure 54 ounces into your soaping bowl. Once the lye and oils are between 100-120 degrees F, slowly add the lye water to the oils. Add 1 teaspoon titanium dioxide and 1 teaspoon Snowflake Sparkle Mica and stick blend until there are no clumps and you have a thin trace.

3

Split the soap into four equal containers. Add the following amounts of color and fragrance oil to each. Whisk thoroughly, then use the stick blender to lightly blend until there are no spots of color.

  • Container A: All Aqua Pearl Mica + 1 oz. Bali Breeze Fragrance Oil
  • Container B: All Hot Pink Mica + 1 oz. Bali Breeze Fragrance Oil
  • Container C: All Kermit Green Mica + 1 oz. Bali Breeze Fragrance Oil
  • Container D: All Yellow Mica + 1 oz. Bali Breeze Fragrance Oil

4

Alternate pouring all four colors into the mold. Pour the soap into different areas and at different heights to allow the soap to swirl.

5

Once 90% of each color has been poured into the mold, gently pour a line of each color down the length of the mold. Pour gently so the soap stays on top, rather than breaking through.

6

Use a chopstick or dowel to swirl the top of the soap. Place one embed in the middle of each bar, alternating colors for all 16.

7

Sprinkle Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter on top. Sprtiz with 99% isopropyl alcohol to prevent soda ash.

8

Allow the soap to stay in the mold for 2-3 days and cut into thick bars. Allow the soaps to cure for 4-6 weeks. Enjoy!
