Does NOT release easily with M & P

I made a batch of M & P soap & it has yet to release from this mold. Being afraid of breaking the mold, I covered my soap in cling wrap & tried a week later, still to no avail. Therefore, I feel that this purchase was a complete waste of money, for both the purchase price & the expensive ingredients that I will have to throw away. Normally, I love all of my Brambleberry products. Ideas anyone?

Hi Tammi! Those hard plastic molds can be a bit tricky to unmold. Breaking the airlock is key so kind of twisting the sides while wiggling the soap upwards with your thumbs should help. Another trick is placing your soap in the freezer for about 30 minutes. This will result in the soap constricting slightly and make for an easier removal.

Heavy Duty Oval Molds

I bought two of these at the end of Jan. They are hard to get the soap out of even after freezing them. I haven't used them a half a dozen times and one cracked at the top. I will be buying silicone again.

Hi Cindy! If you are making cold process soap, it can be a little tricky to remove from hard molds. For these type of molds, soaps with a lot of hard oils (coconut, palm, PKO, tallow, cocoa butter etc) work well to remove the soap. Otherwise, sometimes you have to wait up to a week or two. I’m glad you tried the freezing trick. That helps me immensely when I’m soaping with HD molds. Hard molds work great for melt and pour! If you are looking for a silicone oval mold, I would recommend the 12 Bar Oval Silicone Mold. I will be contacting you personally to help you with the damaged mold, please look for my email! :)
