Mean & Green Soap Project
This is an advanced project, as it involves multiple embeds. We combined our large & small heart column molds to achieve the look of a "growing" heart.
The double heart embed is placed into the 10 inch Silicone Loaf Mold and covered in a vibrant green. This project is scented with Candy Cane Fragrance Oil, a fresh and bright scent that behaves wonderfully in CP.

Instructions
You will need:

- Large Heart Silicone Column Mold
- 10-inch Silicone Loaf Mold

- Red Mica
- Kermit Green Mica
- Green Chrome Oxide Pigment
- Evergreen Mica

Follow these steps:
MAKE THE DOUBLE EMBED
FRAGRANCE OIL PREP: In a glass container, measure 1.3 ounces of Candy Cane Fragrance Oil. Set aside.
SAFETY FIRST: Suit up for safe handling practices. That means goggles, gloves, and long sleeves. Make sure kids, pets, other distractions, and tripping hazards are out of the house or don’t have access to your space. Always make soap in a well-ventilated area.
1
Chop up and melt 5 ounces of LCP Clear Melt & Pour Soap Base, then add ⅛ tsp of Red Mica. Set the Small Silicone Heart Column Mold vertically against a wall or in an upright container, where you plan to let it harden. Pour your melted soap and let harden for 4-6 hours.
2
Slowly and carefully add 2.95 ounces of lye to 6.6 ounces of distilled water and gently stir until the lye has fully dissolved and the liquid is clear. Set aside to cool. Optional: Add 1 teaspoon of sodium lactate to help the bars harden more quickly.
3
Fully melt the Lots of Lather Quick Mix until it's clear. Give the bag a good shake and measure 20 ounces into a large heat-safe container. Add 2 teaspoons of Red Mica directly to the oils and stick blend until there are no clumps. Once the lye water and the oils have cooled to 120° F or below (and are ideally within 10 degrees of each other), add the lye water to the oils and stick blend until thin trace.
4
Add the measured Candy Cane Fragrance Oil to the soap batter. Whisk to fully combine. If necessary, stick blend the soap until you reach a medium trace.
5
Set the Large Silicone Heart Column Mold vertically against a wall or in an upright container, where you plan to let it harden. You don't want to move it after you pour the soap, otherwise it can come apart.
6
Unmold your small heart embed and carefully place it inside of the larger embed mold. You can optionally “glue” the base of your smaller heart to help it stay centered. Carefully pour the soap into the mold around the smaller heart and spritz the top with alcohol to prevent soda ash. Let it harden for 1-2 days before unmolding.
MAKE THE BASE
COLORANT PREP: Disperse 1 teaspoon of Kermit Green Mica into 1 tablespoon of sunflower or sweet almond oil (or any other liquid oil). Add 1/2 teaspoon of Green Chrome Oxide into 1/2 tablespoon of oil. Use a mini mixer to help get rid of any clumps. Optional: To ensure the titanium dioxide blends smoothly into the soap, we recommend micronizing it before dispersing it in oil. Use a coffee grinder to break up any clumps of color and prevent streaks of white from showing in the final soap. We like to use a coffee grinder that has a removable stainless steel mixing area for easy cleaning.
FRAGRANCE OIL PREP: In a glass container, measure 2.15 ounces of Candy Cane Fragrance Oil. Set aside.
1
Slowly and carefully add 3.5 ounces of lye to 7.9 ounces of distilled water and gently stir until the lye has fully dissolved and the liquid is clear. Set aside to cool. Optional: Add 1.5 teaspoons of sodium lactate to help the bars harden more quickly.
2
Fully melt the Lots of Lather Quick Mix until it's clear. Give the bag a good shake and measure 24 ounces into a medium heat-safe container. Once the lye water and the oils have cooled to 120° F or below (and are ideally within 10 degrees of each other), add the lye water to the oils and stick blend until thin trace.
3
Add the fragrance oil and whisk to fully combine. Add your dispersed Kermit Green Mica & Green Oxide Pigment.
4
Your soap should be a thin-medium trace. Pulse with the stick blender if they are still extremely thin.
5
Place the double heart embed into the mold. Slowly begin to fill the mold with green soap, until your double embed is almost completely covered.
6
Continue to dollop green soap in the middle to build height. If the soap is not thick enough to hold its shape and create height, wait a few minutes for it to thicken.
7
Use a small spoon to add peaks and build more height. The top of your soap should have a triangular shape. Once you're happy with the effect, lightly dust Evergreen Mica on top for some subtle color and sparkle.
8
Spritz with alcohol to prevent soda ash. Allow the soap to stay in the mold for 2-3 days. Unmold and cut into bars. Allow the bars to cure for 4-6 weeks. Enjoy!
