This kit uses Avocado Butter, Meadowfoam Oil and Green Tea Extract for a whipped and creamy body butter. Scented with Lemongrass Essential Oil, this recipe is totally natural. It’s a great beginner’s recipe so if you want to get into lotion making, this is a great place to start. A stand mixer is really essential for this recipe. It breaks up and adds air to the butter leaving you with the perfect consistency.
This kit includes:
This kit is a little different than our other kits in that you can remove or get extra of each item in your shopping cart (and the price will adjust accordingly) before you check out. So you can just get what you need. Also please note that there are no printed instructions included with this kit, learn how to make this soap on the Soap Queen Blog here or watch the video below.
I just received my order but there are no instructions on how to measure each product. I am also having a hard time clicking the link above to watch the tutorial on how to make it. How can I get the instructions on what to do??
a little confused i want to make but in the list of ingredients you put 14 oz avocado and in the demonstration part you say 16 ounces.. which is it?
Maybe I did something wrong. This recipe was the first time I made a body butter or lotion of any kind, and from the description I thought it might absorb nicely because I normally have very dry skin. However, this body butter just sort of sits on my skin like a layer of grease. It won't sink in. I thought the Dry Flo was meant to help with that, but it just gave the oils a strange powdery "cornstarch" stick-ness. It's sticky, powdery, and greasy all at the same time. There doesn't seem to be any "glide" to it - just powder and oil. It almost feels like store-bought deodorant. :(
It was super easy to make, and I really WANT to like this body butter because everything else from BB has been AWESOME!
I'd love to know if there's any way I can fix it or salvage it? Turn it into a lotion? I guess I'm looking for something in between a butter and a lotion? Anyway, any advice you can offer is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Kim! I'm sorry to hear this body butter kit is giving you some trouble. We have always found this recipe to create an awesome, well absorbing body butter. I will be emailing you personally to help troubleshoot why the texture is not correct.
It is easy to spread out on my skin and absorb well. I'm wondering if can switch the Avocado butter with shea butter and use the same method to make it cause I still have some left over Shea butter. Thanks!!

You are in luck, we actually have a very similar recipe that you can work with, called
Easy Whipped Shea Butter.
In this recipe, you can switch out the
and still come out with a delightful finished product. Just be aware that when you change an ingredient in a recipe, that the end consistency will change a tad, but it will still be a very lovely body butter.
