Find out how much of this scent to use
Pikake flowers are the traditional blossoms used for making Leis in Hawaii. This fragrance evokes that sweet welcome as you step off the plane and begin a relaxing, fun-filled vacation.
This fragrance was one of the winners from the Summer 2012 S.O.A.P. panel. It reminded one of the testers of carnation flowers and another tester picked out the jasmine notes. Many noted that this was a deep floral as opposed to a light floral and it stuck in Cold Process soap nicely. Slight yellow discoloration in CP.

My favorite of the white florals BB has to offer. I get slight banana towards the end of a whiff, but it's definitely the truest white floral I have found, similar to jasmine, but better than the "Jasmine Dreams" or gardenia variations offered. Tuberose moss might be a close second fave...anyway, comparisons aside, this traces quickly. I also noticed it started to heat up and erupt in the mold. Good thing it's just a test batch and wasn't filled to the top of the column mold! We'll see how it looks after cutting. I added pink Brazilian clay and sodium lactate to my recipe as well, so not sure if that would have had an effect. This is also great in the BB shampoo base, as well as in my cyclomethicone hair detangler, it's like Hawaii in a bottle!
It's one of my favorite fragrances, very lovely!
The smell out of the bottle is not particularly pikake or Jasmine floral - it's more fake. In CP soap, it really warms up and the jasmine comes to the fore. That said, simple cold process @ 125, with no waxes or additives accelerated like a Indy sprint car and then blew up and out of the mold 10 minutes later. In 15 years of soaping, I've never seen this, so it was surprising and funny, but the soap is super ugly now. Maybe a rebatch, or maybe it'll cut out nice enough. Lovely scent - tricky chemistry :)
This fragrance oil is to die for. It smells great! That being said work FAST! SUPER FAST! A girlfriend and I decided to use it in cold process. I only took it to a light trace but within less than 10 minutes it was gloppy. We were trying to do a 2 color swirl so I would have preferred it to move a little less quickly.
I hate most florals. This actually smells like a real, sweet white flower. It's SO good. Smells very pikake OOB, but in soap it's so sweet and a little milder. DEFINITELY A KEEPER.
