Lavender 40/42 Essential Oil - Lavender 40/42 is a bold yet fresh smelling Lavender very similar to our Lavender Provence Essential oil. Made from a mixture of lavender essential oils to create a dependable scent year after year, this Lavender does not experience the same crop variations due to blending different Lavender constituents in a lab after harvesting and distilling. Similar to a red table wine, Lavender 40/42 blends different kinds of Lavender for an economical and consistent blend. Our Lavender 40/42 is a very reliable and refreshing ingredient for any toiletry product - create soothing soaps, relaxing bath salts, or calming lotions.

Strong at first, but faded
I have a batch of soap I made about 10 weeks ago. The scent has been fine until the last 2 weeks - it seems to have faded quite a bit and I can hardly pick out the scent at all. It's disappointing, since this EO is more costly. I even used clay in my soap to help anchor the scent, but maybe I should have blended it with something else. Other than that, I love this oil!

Cold process soap and lotion
Holds up wonderful in my cold process soaps; however, I've used an ounce of this EO in 48oz whipped body butter and can barely smell anything.... Even added two ounces EO and can hardly smell it... Not quite sure why???? Any suggestions...

Strong, but nice lavender EO
We have used this lavender EO in several batches of CP and HP soaps. I have found that those soaps in which we use a clay, the EO has more staying power. We have used this EO in CP soap with lavender infused water and blended it with tea tree EO and a tad of rosemary EO. Yummy! Straight from the bottle it is fairly strong, but does mellow to a nice, not overly floral or medical fragrance as soaps cure.

I hate being the low-rater here, but this lavender blend doesn't smell floral enough to me. It has a spicy kick that isn't, by itself, off-putting, but the medicinal note I get is. A little of this goes a long way.

Great smell but doesn't seem to stay
I paid the extra for this Lavender. I used 3oz in a 3lb batch of soap. Smelled amazing when first cut. But as it has sat and cured, the lavender has faded. I asked a bunch of ladies to tell me what the scent was (this was after about 3 weeks) and no one could pick out lavender. I would like to make a CP soap that has a nice strong lavender scent that stays. Any suggestions?? I have tried the cheaper Lavender fragrance oil, I used 4oz in a 3lb batch to compare. The ladies couldn't call this one lavender either, but did say it had a "bite" at the end.

Hi Elizabeth! I’m sorry to hear that this fragrance faded in your soap. We have always found this essential oil to result in a strong lavender scent, so I will be emailing you personally to help troubleshoot why this may have happened.
