Gingerbread Candle Project
This Gingerbread Candle fills the room with a sweet, spicy, and comforting scent.
If you're not in the mood to bake but love the smell of spiced cookies, these Gingerbread Candles are for you! They fill the room with a sweet and spicy scent. They're perfect for gifts and stocking stuffers, and the project works for beginners and more advanced crafters.Â
We used Cd-16 Wick for these candles, which provided a nice, slow burn. We recommend burning these candles for at least an hour or two for your first burn to prevent tunneling. If you prefer to light your candles in shorter increments, you may prefer the Cd-20 Wick.Â
What You Need:
Instructions
You will need:
- Four 4 oz. Hexagon Glass Jars
- Four CD-16 Wicks
- 1 lbs. Coconut Soy Wax
- 2 oz. Gingerbread Cookie Fragrance Oil
Follow these steps:
1
Place 16 ounces of Coconut Soy Wax into a heat-safe container and melt in the microwave using 60 second bursts. You can also melt the wax slowly in a double boiler. Once it's about 135-140° F, add between .5 and 1.25 ounces of Gingerbread Cookie Fragrance Oil (depending on your desired scent strength) and stir for several minutes. Set aside.
2
When the wax cools to about 130° F, pour it into each candle jar. Place the wicks in the center of the candles.
3
If necessary, steady the wick to help it stay centered. Clothespins or popsicle sticks work well for this. Tip: It can be helpful to trim the wicks before placing them so they are not as top-heavy.
4
Allow the wax to cool and harden completely. Trim the wicks. Light, burn for 1-2 hours on your first burn and enjoy! Never leave your candle unattended.
