Stephenson Vanilla Stable Base
Vanilla Stable is a vegetable-based Melt and Pour soap base. This transparent base has a vanilla stabilizer additive already in the soap that prevents the brown discoloration caused by fragrances with vanilla. High glycerin content makes this a very moisturizing base while still being suitable for molding or cutting. We love that this soap base is semi-transparent enabling you to create bright bold colors. Recommended fragrance usage rate is 2% or less - we have found that higher usage rates will lead to browning over 2 or 3 months but that our 2% samples were fine.
Please note: discoloration caused by the actual color of your fragrance oil (like a yellow tinted Orange essential oil) is not prevented with this base. Also, this base takes a little longer to melt down and tends to set-up quickly, so be sure you have everything ready before you start making your soap!
