If you are making an anti-bug candle, be sure to use at least 1.5 ounces of essential oil per pound of wax. I bought this essential oil to make a "bug away" soap for our family camping trips this summer. When I opened the bottle my husband and I were both very impressed with the fragrance. But when I went to make the soap it accelerated the trace so quickly that I couldn't even get the soap batter into a mold. It hardened like a brick. I think I'll stick to making candles with this particular essential oil from now on.

Hi Vicki! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed this scent. In our tests we have found that this fragrance does accelerate, but we have never experienced seizing. I will be emailing you personally to help find out why this may have happened.
so i got this for a bug replant i am planning to make in a few weeks, also and a bug replant candle. i bought 2 ounces and i thought maybe i got 4 ounces because it was a nice size bottle. But it was two ounces. this will last me all summer. ANYHOO i smelled this essential oil when i was at a farmers market. It was the NOW brand and it smelled HORRIBLE. Very glad i decided to get this through bramble berry. Hope it repels the bugs. :)
