Sherry Bradford
Color more grey than blue

Like most of these colorants, it mixed up easily. I was expecting it to be a distinct blue based on the description. Unfortunately, it came out more grey in my CP soap. It is still a nice color - but my design called for something more vibrant. I would use it again in a different design. Once again I am reminded that while descriptions are helpful, there is so much variation from one soaper's recipes and processes to another that we just HAVE to test for ourselves. I should have done a small batch test with my recipe first.

Hi Sherry! In our tests and recipes the Ultraviolet Blue Colorant definitely turned the vivid blue, like that sample picture, in cold process soap. To create the color in that sample we used 1 tsp of of colorant in 1 lb of soap. Sometimes colors can turn out less vibrant if less is used, if the soap did not go through gel phase or if there was a discoloring fragrance involved.
