These Honeycomb Lotion Bars are perfect for extra dry patches like elbows, knees, and hands.

This recipe is made with Coconut Oil , Shea Butter, and Yellow Beeswax. The bars are solid at room temperature but melt on contact with the skin.

The bars couldn’t be easier to make – simply melt together the oils/butters and beeswax, then add the fragrance and oat extract. Pure Honey Fragrance Oil  pairs perfectly with this project!

Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
  • Coconut Oil - 1 lb
  • Shea Butter - 1 lb
  • Oat Extract - 1 oz
  • Pure Honey Fragrance Oil - Trial Size
  • Yellow Beeswax - 1 lb
EQUIPMENT:
  • 6 Cavity Honeycomb Silicone Mold - 1 Mold

Instructions

You will need:

  • 6 Cavity Honeycomb Silicone Mold
  • 3.25 oz. Coconut Oil
  • 2.5 oz. Shea Butter
  • 1.5 oz Oat Extract
  • .3 oz Pure Honey Fragrance Oil
  • 4 oz Yellow Beeswax
  • Dropper

Follow these steps:

1

In a heat-safe container, add 3.25 ounces of coconut oil, 4 ounces of yellow beeswax, 2.5 ounces of shea butter. Melt in the microwave using 60 second bursts.

2

Add 0.3 ounces of Pure Honey Fragrance Oil and stir thoroughly. Next, add 1.5 ounces of oat extract.

3

Pour the mixture into each mold cavity. Allow to cool completely for several hours or up to overnight - you can also place it in the fridge or freezer to cool quickly.

4

Carefully remove from the mold. First, pull away the sides of each cavity. Then, use your thumbs to gently press all areas of the mold to release the airlock and gently push out each bar. Enjoy!

Tip: If you placed the mold in the fridge or freezer, we found it best to allow the bars to warm slightly at room temperature before removing from the mold. When extremely cold, the bars are more brittle and the details are more likely to tear
