This emulsified sugar scrub gently exfoliates to leave your skin feeling soft and supple.

The star of this project is the Wild Huckleberry Fragrance Oil, a sophisticated fruity scent that smells just like freshly picked berries. Granulated sugar and poppy seeds work together to provide gentle exfoliation while coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and shea butter leave your skin feeling silky smooth.

Instructions

You will need:

  • 4.8 oz Coconut Oil
  • 3.2 oz Shea Butter
  • 1.76 Sweet Almond Oil
  • 1.6 oz Cetyl Alcohol
  • .64 oz Emulsifying Wax
  • 19.2 oz Granulated Sugar (from grocery store)
  • .16 Poppy Seeds
  • .32 oz Optiphen
  • Trial Size Wild Huckleberry Fragrance Oil
  • Queen’s Purple Mica
  • Six 4-oz Bail Jars

Follow these steps:

1

Begin by combining all of the measured coconut oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, cetyl alcohol and polawax to the same heat safe container.

2

Using either a microwave or a double boiler, gently heat the ingredients until they’re fully clear and melted. If using a microwave, heat in 30-second bursts stirring in between.

3

Cover the heat safe container with a towel or plastic wrap and transfer it into the fridge or freezer to fully cool. You will know it’s fully cooled when it has turned white and is solid to the touch.

4

Turn on your hand mixer to a low setting and begin breaking up the cooled ingredients. Whip them until all hard chunks are broken up and the mixture starts looking fluffy.

5

In a separate container, measure out 19 ounces of granulated sugar. Fold in the sugar in small increments, mixing until all of the sugar is equally distributed.

6

Add .3 oz Optiphen and .3 oz of Wild Huckleberry Fragrance.

7

Add in mica and poppy seeds as desired. We recommend starting with ¼ tsp of mica and 1 tsp of poppy seeds, adding more as desired. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the container to ensure the color is fully mixed in.

8

Spoon the scrub into jars and enjoy!
