Note: You will need 16 ounces of granulated/cane sugar to complete this recipe. If you don't have any laying around your kitchen, you can purchase it at any grocery store.
What You Need:
Instructions
You will need:
- Four 4 oz. Glass Jars
- 16 oz. Granulated Sugar *Not Included, but can be found at any grocery store
- 1 oz. Strawberry Extract
- 2.5-4 oz. Avocado Oil
- 1/8 tsp Rose Pearl Mica
- 1/8 tsp Kermit Green Mica
- 1/8 tsp Sunset Orange Mica
- 0.3 oz. Polysorbate 80
- 0.3 oz. Rainbow Sherbet Fragrance Oil
Follow these steps:
1
In a large mixing bowl, weigh 16 ounces of granulated sugar.
2
In a separate container, weigh out between 2.5 - 4 ounces of avocado oil. How much oil you add depends on the texture and consistency you’re going for. Add 1 ounce of strawberry extract, 0.3 ounces of polysorbate 80, and 0.3 ounces of Rainbow Sherbet Fragrance Oil.
3
Combine the cane sugar and wet ingredients, stirring thoroughly to combine. Your scrub consistency should look like wet sand, optionally add more oil to get a softer texture.
4
Separate your mixture evenly into three containers. Add 1/8 tsp of each mica to the three containers, stirring thoroughly to combine. You can sprinkle up to ¼ tsp of mica until you’re happy with the color, but we find 1/8 tsp is all that’s needed to achieve a light pastel color palette.
5
Fill each glass container ⅓ of the way full with orange sugar scrub, packing tightly to ensure your colors stay separate.
6
Fill the containers another ⅓ of the way with green sugar scrub, then top off each container with the final layer of pink sugar scrub. Store for up to 6 months in a cool, dry environment.
