Nothing says summer quite like s'mores! The melt and pour toppers make this soap look almost good enough to eat

Toasted S’mores Fragrance Oil makes these bars smell just like the real thing, with notes of fluffy marshmallow and carmelized sugar.

Instructions

You will need:

Embeds:

  • 1 lb LCP White Melt and Pour Soap
  • Orange Peel Powder
  • Cappucino Mica
  • Orange Peel Powder
  • 10 inch Silicone Mold
  • Mini Column Embed Mold

Base:

  • 48 oz Lots of Lather Quick Mix
  • 6.85 oz Sodium Hydroxide Lye
  • 2 tsp Sodium lactate
  • 15.3 oz Distilled Water
  • 3 oz Toasted S'mores Fragrance Oil
  • King's Gold Mica
  • Titanium Dioxide
  • 10 inch Silicone Loaf Mold

Follow these steps:

MAKE THE EMBEDS

1

Chop your block of white melt and pour into small cubes. Separate out 6 ounces and melt using 30-second bursts.

2

Pour 6 oz of melted plain white melt and pour into the mini column silicone mold and let cool.

3

Split the remaining white melt and pour, 5oz each, into separate containers. Add ⅛ tsp of cappuccino mica to one container and pour into the bottom of the large mold, and let cool. You can stick the mold in the fridge or freezer to speed up this process.

4

Once cooled, remove the brown soap from the mold and set aside. To the last 5 oz of white melt and pour, add ⅛-¼ tsp of orange peel powder, pour into the mold and let cool.

5

Cut the white column soap into 9 equal pieces, they will be about average marshmallow size. When the “graham cracker” and “chocolate” soaps are done cooling, cut them into mini bar sized pieces (about 1”x2”). Set these melt and pour pieces aside for the final steps.

MAKE THE BASE

SAFETY FIRST: Suit up for safe handling practices. That means goggles, gloves, and long sleeves. Make sure kids, pets, other distractions, and tripping hazards are out of the house or don’t have access to your space. Always make soap in a well-ventilated area.

COLORANT PREP: Mix ½ tsp of King’s Gold Mica into ½ tbsp of oil. Mix 1 tsp of titanium dioxide into 1 tbsp of oil. Set aside.

1

Warm up the bag of quick mix in the microwave. Pour 48 oz of oil into a heat safe container and set aside. In a separate container, carefully add 6.85 oz of lye to 15.3 oz distilled water. Set aside to cool.

2

Once the lye water and oils have cooled to around 110 degrees (preferably within 10 degrees of each other) carefully add the lye water to the oils and stick blend to a thin trace.

3

Pour 3 oz of fragrance oil into the entire batch, stir until fully combined.

4

Split the batch into 3 containers: 16 oz in the first, 32 oz in the second, and the remaining 22 oz in the third for your frosting. Stick blend the King’s Gold Mica mixture into the 16 oz batch, leave the 32 oz and 22 oz containers uncolored.

5

Starting with the 32 oz of uncolored soap, begin pouring into the mold. Alternate the gold soap and uncolored soap using a drop swirl technique. Keep in mind that because this fragrance discolors, the uncolored soap will become a beautiful chocolate brown after curing.

6

After the base is poured, mix the titanium dioxide mixture into the remaining 22 oz of “frosting” soap. After mixing the color in, stick blend until the soap is a thick milkshake consistency.

7

Scoop frosting into a piping bag with a piping tip inserted (or a ziploc bag with a corner cut off). Pipe the frosting onto the top of the soap, working in rows and building up to a pyramid shape.

8

Arrange the melt and pour marshmallows, chocolate, and graham cracker pieces into the top of the frosting, about 1 inch apart. Keep in mind how you will be cutting the bars when you’re arranging the embeds. Note: due to the discoloration of the fragrance, your final bars will look very different than what you see now.

9

Spray with alcohol to reduce soda ash. Let sit for 48 hours before unmolding. Cut into bars in between the s’mores embeds. As the soap cures, the natural discoloration of the fragrance will darken the soap, turning the uncolored soap to a naturally chocolate brown and giving a “toasted marshmallow” look to the top of the frosting.
