Rose Quartz Soap Project
These bars couldn’t be easier to make! After mixing in color and fragrance oil, the white and pink soap are poured together into the mold and swirled together. Get tips on how to swirl melt and pour soap here. Once the soap has fully cooled, use a non-serrated knife to cut the soap into gem shapes. The leftover soap can be melted down and used in future projects so there's no waste.
The creative possibilites with these project are endless, you can easily swap out the color and fragrance to create whatever gemstone you want! Here are a few fragrance & colorant pairings:
Ruby & Garnet = Crimson Red Mica + Black Raspberry Vanilla Fragrance Oil
Emerald = Hunter Green Mica + Emerald Agave Fragrance Oil
Sapphire = Cobalt Blue Mica + Midnight Waters Fragrance Oil
Diamond = Luna UltraSparkle Mica + Champagne Fragrance Oil
Amethyst = Queen's Purple Mica + Night Violet Fragrance Oil
Aquamarine = Lagoon Green UltraSparkle Mica + After the Rain Fragrance Oil
What You Need:
Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
- SFIC Clear Melt And Pour Soap Base - 1 lb
- Rose Quartz Fragrance Oil - 1.75 oz
- SFIC White Melt And Pour Soap Base - 1 lb
- Rose Gold Color Block - 1 Block
EQUIPMENT:
- 12 Bar Rectangle Silicone Mold - 1 Mold
- Droppers With Suction Bulb - 1 dropper
Instructions
You will need:
- 12 Cavity Rectangle Silicone Mold
- 32 oz. Clear Melt & Pour Soap Base (2 Blocks)
- 16 oz. White Melt & Pour Soap Base (1 Block)
- Rose Gold Color Block
- 1 oz Rose Quartz Fragrance Oil
- Dropper
- 99% Isopropyl Alcohol in Spray Bottle
Follow these steps:
1
Chop 16 ounces of White Melt and Pour Soap and 32 ounces of Clear Melt and Pour Soap into small uniform pieces. Place them into separate heat-safe containers and melt in the microwave using 30 second bursts.
2
Once the bases are completely melted, chop small shavings of Rose Gold Color Block and add them to the melted clear soap. Leave the white soap uncolored.
3
Add approximately 2/3 of your fragrance to the clear soap and the remaining 1/3 to your white soap. Stir in completely.
4
Check the temperature of the soap. Both bases should be about 125-130° F to create wispy swirls. Fill the molds most of the way with the pink soap, finishing off each bar with a swirl of white soap. You can alternate pouring the colors, or pour them at the same time. Use a chopstick, dowel, or small spoon to swirl the soap. Spritz with 99% isopropyl alcohol to get rid of any bubbles on top.
5
Repeat this process until all the soap is poured. Allow the soap to fully cool and harden for several hours or up to overnight. Remove them from the mold.
6
Use a sharp non-serrated knife to cut the soaps into gem shapes. There is no right or wrong way to do it – just have fun with it.
7
Wrap the bars in plastic wrap to help prevent glycerin dew. Enjoy!
