Sunlit Pines Candle Project
Take a stroll through the pines—no hiking boots required.
These candles capture the scent of a warm forest on a sunny summer afternoon, with fresh evergreen notes and a beautiful pine-needle green hue. Plus, this project includes a free printable label to help give your handmade candles a polished, professional finish.
What You Need:
Instructions
You will need:
- 4 Silver Candle Tins
- 16 oz. Coconut Soy Candle Wax
- Sage Green Candle Dye Flakes
- 1 ounce Sunlit Pines Fragrance Oil
- 4 CD-12 Wicks & Wick Stickers
Follow these steps:
1
Place a half-filled pot of water on the stove, bring it to a low simmer, and nest a pouring pitcher or other heat-safe container inside. Add 16 ounces of Coconut Soy Candle Wax. Allow the wax to melt.
2
Once the wax reaches 185° F, remove it from the heat and slowly stir in one ounce of fragrance for 1-2 minutes to fully incorporate. Set aside to cool.
3
Secure the wicks to the bottom of each container using a wick sticker.
4
Begin adding Sage Green Dye Flakes in small pinches, stirring and swatching the wax color on a white surface like a cutting board or piece of paper. Continue adding pinches of dye flakes until you get a swatch you’re happy with.
5
Once the wax is at 135° F, pour it slowly into the prepped tins.
6
Let the candles cool for 12-24 hours. Allow them to cure for 3-5 days so the fragrance completely bonds with the wax. Burn your candle until it reaches a full melt pool for best results. This typically takes 1 to 2 hours; if a full burn pool does not form on the first burning, tunnelling straight down into the wax can occur.
