Project Description

This lip balm is made with borage oil, cocoa butter, and a hint of Hungarian lavender essential oil. The mixture of oils and butters keeps lips moisturized and soft.

White beeswax provides extra protection and firmness to the balm. This formula is on the softer side - it feels oily on the lips rather than waxy. If you prefer a firmer balm or live in an extremely hot climate, you may prefer to increase the amount of beeswax in this recipe.

Be careful when pouring the balm into the paperboard tubes. The lip balm mixture will stain the paper if it comes in contact. Using droppers can be helpful!

You will need:

  • 10 Kraft Paperboard Tubes
  • 1.6 oz. Cocoa Butter
  • 1.6 oz. Borage Oil
  • 0.6 oz. White Beeswax
  • 1 mL Hungarian Lavender Essential OIl

Follow these steps:

1

In a small heat-safe container, add 1.6 ounces of cocoa butter, 1.6 ounce of borage oil, and 0.6 ounces of white beeswax. Place the container in the microwave and melt the cocoa butter and beeswax using 30-60 second bursts. Remove from the microwave carefully, as the container will be very hot.
