Blueberry Fragrance Oil

I agree with a previous review that this fragrance smells a little medicinal, however it is blueberry enough to be recognizable. Our issue was the acceleration. We made two batches with this oil and both seized the mix just about immediately. The color shift was corrected due to the hot gel phase where our colorants snapped back. But the description should mention something about acceleration, just as a warning. We were able to save our batches, but were unable to achieve any swirl effect. I would recommend anyone to add the fragrance immediately before pouring into the mold. It sets up REALLY quick.

Hi Joseph! I'm sorry you had that experience with this fragrance! In our tests and recipes the Blueberry Fragrance Oil did not accelerate or seize. There can be other reasons for acceleration like soaping with high temperatures or additives like honey as seen in our Adding Honey to Cold Process Soap blog post.

Great in cold process!

Out of the bottle, I hated this. I didn't want to waste it, so I went ahead and made a test loaf of cold process. It morphed into something outstanding! It's stronger than I expected, and very much a sweet, but tart, blueberry. I love it, my husband loves it, even my kids say it smells good!

Fresh and long lasting

I love this scent. It's so easy to work with, not too sweet, really lasts in CP soap. I don't like that it discolors yellow, but it's worth the trouble.

It's grape, not blueberry :(

Waste of money. Very disappointed. It's grape.

Smells like children

I purchased this with the hopes of making a blueberry and cream sort of scent. (My husband loves blueberries) I used this fragrance in melt and pour. When I opened the bottle, I was not impressed. It reminded me of a mixed berry children's medicine. I decided that I would test this fragrance because sometimes the fragrances change a bit after being used in soap. This one did not. I decided to mix it with a little Yuzu and Vanilla select and it smells a little better, but it is still very child like and chemically. I was a bit disappointed. I really wanted a true blueberry scent and this is not it at all. I will likely not purchase this fragrance again.

Hi Sara! I'm sorry you were disappointed in this fragrance. We love this traditional blueberry scent, with some interesting supporting notes of marionberries, greenery and a touch of musk! If you're looking for another blueberry scent you may like our Blueberry Delight Fragrance Oil.
