At What Temperature Should You Add Fragrance to Soy Wax?

For soy wax, add fragrance oil between 180 and 185°F. Below that range, the fragrance won't incorporate evenly. Above it, you risk scorching the wax and accelerating fragrance evaporation before the candle even sets. Always defer to your specific wax manufacturer's recommended temperature, as soy blends vary.

Citrus and herbal oils, particularly those made primarily from essential oils, have a lighter density and can burn off quickly, so try adding those at the lower end of the range. Stir for at least two minutes after adding, regardless of oil type, and let soy candles cure a minimum of three to four days before your first burn test to allow the wax and fragrance to fully bond.
