Hydrated Chrome Green: "Teal" - This is a bright green; it is more blue-green than our Moss Green. It's perfect for spring scents, or for bright Green scents (like our Lettuce or Cucumber). While this is a non-bleeding colorant, if you add too much to your soap it can migrate into other colors in the soap design or stain washcloths. We recommend starting out at 1/16th to 1/8th teaspoon per pound for melt & pour soaps. For cold process, add 1 teaspoon of oxide to 1 tablespoon of a carrier oil like Sweet Almond or Olive Oil and mix well using a mini mixer. For more information on oxides in soap, check out this blog post.
To achieve the color of the soap sample above, use 1 tsp of colorant per pound of cold process soap.
Ingredients: Botanical Name: Chromium Oxide Hydrate (CI 77288), Boron Oxide Common Name: Hydrated Chromium Oxide
This is one of the more expensive colors so I thought long and hard before I bought it, but I am so glad I did. I made some CP soap with Bay Rum Fragrance and swirled this with a little Super Pearly White mica and TD. It looks like the ocean. :)
Love love this color in CP soap!
Was unimpressed when I saw it in the jar, used it in a pinch when I needed a bright green. Totally different color in the soap, really pretty. Used extra amounts to get a deep color (so far no seepage of color despite BB's caveat). Just ordered more, will be using it often.
It is lovely, just what I was looking for. Easy to use - dissolves really well in oil with no lumps at all. Great color even without gel phase - smooth & even!
I had this sitting on my shelf for a long time before I used it. BOY am I sorry I did not use this sooner. What a beautiful....Beautiful...color.
Easy to work with in CP.
