COLORANTS FOR SOAP AND CANDLES

Adding color to your soap, candles, and bath products adds a special touch. You can use colorants that complement the fragrances you're using, or use colored soap to make beautiful designs in your soap bars and candles. We have so many options to choose from, to color everything from candles to cold process soap. Micas are a naturally occurring mineral, and to make colorants, these are ground into a fine powder and combined with dyes or oxides. Micas offer a wide range of colors to choose from, and they add a delightful shimmer to your soap and other bath and beauty products. Micas will work with so many projects, including bath bombs!
Pigments are naturally occurring oxides of metal. These oxides are nature identical, meaning that they’re created in a lab but have the same chemical structure as naturally occurring oxides. Pigments are a powder, but aren’t as fine as micas. Pigments also provide a matte color in your finished product; they won’t have the shimmer that micas offer. They’re best used as colorants for cold process soap.
In melt and pour soap, the powdered colorants may clump together, so for melt and pour soap we offer Color Blocks. These are blocks of melt and pour soap that are mixed with colorants. Just grate some and add it to your melt and pour project and it will mix in completely.
We also offer some liquid dyes for soapmaking. Our Lab Colors are great colorants for melt and pour soap and for cold process soap. Our Liquid Crystal dyes offer clear, concentrated color that can be used to color bath bombs and is gorgeous in a clear melt and pour soap.
With this many color options, you can make homemade bath and beauty products that are beautiful as well as useful.
