Didn't Come Out Red

I had initially purchased this product thinking it would be a bright cherry red, but it came out pink- the most amazing vibrant hot pink! Not what I expected, but I still love it. I havent had it come out red in my M&P soap but im still pleased with the color

Why did this happen?

I used this with m&p soap base and a clear base and gave it as a gift and the person told me that it stained their shower horribly as it sat and dripped in the shower soap dish??? Why did that happen?

Hi Kat! I'm sorry that happened with your soap. Melt and pour is a glycerin soap, which isn't as hard as cold process, so it can get a bit sticky in the shower and transfer. Also, it could be that the soap was overcolored, which is super easy to do. The usage rate is 1 teaspoon per pound of soap. If more color is added it can transfer. Also, if there is any ring around the tub already (the natural oils from our skin) then the color will stick to it like glue, though it should come off with some cleaning! Adding less colorant and using a draining soap dish can help. That will keep the soap dry in the shower and prevent some of the transfer. :)

Not cherry red at all

I purchase this thinking it would be a cherry red - but in clear MnP it was a weird pink. I should have realized when the price had been reduced. Even adding red oxide didn't help. Will NOT be buying this again. Disappointed for the first time with Brambleberry products.

Hi Carol! I'm so sorry you were disappointed in your results with this color. We love the Liquid Cherry Colorant, though it should be a bright cherry color in clear soap as seen in the sample above. To get a bright color we normally start with 1 teaspoon per pound of soap. Customer service has emailed you directly to help troubleshoot!

Also turned purple

I was looking forward to make a yellow orange and red cp soap. At first the color was a beautiful cherry red. A few minutes later it turned to a pretty magenta. By the time I was pouring it was a plum purple and the texture was slurry. I don't really care for the orange purple yellow combination but hey it's soap. The oils I used was olive, coconut, Palm, avocado and castor. Fragrance was bite me. (Yes that's the name of the fragrance) and has a super cherry aroma I have no idea what it reacted with. Just want to let others know what experience I had and I'll use it differently the next time.

Faded back to white

I purchased this since my old red is no longer carried and was super disappointed. After a week in MP where I used to get a nice bright pink in a white base it faded to white and there was no longer any pink in the soap.

Hi Tonya! I'm sorry this colorant wasn't your favorite. In our tests and recipes, we've found the colorant stays, as seen in this Rainbow Spheres Melt and Pour Soap Tutorial. However, this color can fade if it's left in direct sunlight. I'll be emailing you personally to help out!
