Waaaay too much work!

I'm getting ready for a holiday show and thought this mold would be nice to make soaps in the 3 oz. price point. Let me just say that I used it once and I don't think I'll be using it again. It was sooooo hard to get this soap out of the mold. My hubby even had trouble. After 45 minutes of freezing, banging, pushing, and praying the soaps finally came out. The mold makes a really cute soap, but who has 45 minutes to waste on trying to get soap out of a mold. They should really make this in a silicone mold. I feel like I wasted my money on this!

Hi Stephanie! We’re sorry you found this mold tricky to use. The heavy duty nature of these molds can make release a little more difficult, especially if you are making cold process soap, but in all of our tests we found that the freezer trick works like a charm. See Anne-Marie demonstrating release from a heavy duty mold near the end of How to Make Cold Process Soap: Using Colorants, Episode 4 of Soap Queen TV. The trick is to pull the sides of the mold apart to break the airlock while pushing down firmly. Thanks for your feedback!
