That's right, it's another exclusive sneak peek treat for our newsletter subscribers! These really cool soaps will be featured in a special 4th of July edition of Soap Queen TV. But you get to see them here before anyone else!
Instructions: This is an easy project - but it has quite a few steps and is difficult to explain in words so be sure to watch the Special 4th of July Edition of Soap Queen TV (airing June 25) for help. The soap portion uses the same concept as Anne-Marie's jelly roll soap project over on the Soap Queen Blog, and the folding is just like making a paper pinwheel.
Step 1: Melt white soap base and add fragrance and approximately 10% liquid glycerin by volume.
Step 2: Pour into the flexible brownie pan. Make sure this layer is only about 1/8 inch thick.
Step 3: After the first layer has set-up, spray with rubbing alcohol. Repeat the second layer using clear soap and liquid blue color and liquid glycerin.
Step 4: As soon as the soap is set up, remove it from the mold.
Step 5: Cut into 4 equal squares. On each square, slice diagonally from each corner towards the center. Leave the center uncut so that all of the sides are still connected.
Step 6: Fold every other point towards the center of the square and just press them into the center to make them stick.
Step 7: Finish the pinwheel with a little circle covering the center using a drop of melted soap for 'glue'.
Step 8: Poke a wooden skewer through the back of the pinwheel or just lay them flat on a plate.
