Polysorbate 80

I am In the search to find the formula for my bath bombs. I bought this product because I am using mica as a colorant for my bath bombs, but I find that it continues to leave a ring around the bathtub.

The Polysorbate 80 should definitely work to help disperse the micas in the bathwater which helps to prevent that ring. We normally use 1% though you can technically use it at 1-6%. Find out more about this in our Black Bath Bombs: A Cautionary DIY blogpost under 'Update.'

works like magic for micas

absolutely no more color ring around the tub when using micas. Takes very little to do the trick in my bath bombs. Also, creates a nice foamy swirl of colors. Very pleased.

Didn't work for me

I bought this product to use as an emulsifyer for room/linen sprays to keep the EO & hydrosol/witch hazel base mixed. It did not work...I may not have used it correctly?? It turned into a gelatinous blob. Feed back from BB would be greatly appreciated. Like another of the reviewers, this came in the second shipment in a row that has leaked all over - the box was soaked with fragrance oil.

The smell

I ordered this product and it works great as far as emulsifying the micas in my Bombs however I noticed a strange smell once the bomb was placed in the water and had dissolved. I'm not sure if it didn't mix well with the lemongrass and clary sage fragrance but it isn't a pleasant smell. Didn't have this issue with other fra

Essential for Bath Truffles

I have found a lot of uses for this product, but found it most useful in Bath Truffles. Polysorbate 80 causes the oils in the truffle to disperse in the bath water instead of float on top, making for a better bath experience, IMO. Also, I like to color my bath truffles with micas and in my experience it helps avoid a mica ring in the bath tub. Anyway, great stuff.
