Project Description

This creamy body butter deeply moisturizes the skin. Pink Petals Fragrance Oil gives it a light floral scent.

Creamy yet fluffy, this Whipped Rose Body Butter is perfect when lightweight moisturizers just aren't cutting it. It’s made with ultra-hydrating ingredients like avocado butter, cocoa butter, and rose extract. It’s scented with Dewy Rose Fragrance Oil, which smells just like a warm spring day.

When warm, this body butter has a frosting-like consistency. Thanks to the cocoa butter, it does harden at room temperature but still has an airy, fluffy quality to it. We recommend deodorized cocoa butter so it doesn't overpower the fragrance, but regular cocoa butter works fine as well.

Whipped Rose Body Butter Project

You will need:

  • About Five 8 oz. Bail Jars
  • 16 oz. Avocado Butter
  • 3 oz. Deodorized Cocoa Butter
  • 1 oz. Rose Extract
  • 0.3 oz. Dewy Rose Fragrance Oil
  • 1/4 tsp. Rose Pearl Mica
  • 1 oz. Arrowroot Powder (optional)

Follow these steps:

1

Place 3 ounces of cocoa butter wafers and 1 ounce of rose extract into a heat-safe container. Melt in the microwave using 30-60 second bursts. Be careful when removing the container - it may be quite hot.

2

Add 0.3 ounces of Dewy Rose Fragrance Oil and mix thoroughly. Allow the butter mixture to cool to around 90° F.

3

Add 16 ounces of avocado butter to a large mixing bowl. Use a hand or stand mixer to whip until it's completely smooth. Add about 1/4 of the melted cocoa butter and continue to whip for about 30 seconds.

4

Continue adding small amounts of the melted cocoa butter until it's gone, whipping between each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure everything is thoroughly mixed.

5

Add 1/4 teaspoon of Rose Pearl Mica and mix again until everything is fully incorporated.
Optional: Fold in 1 ounce of arrowroot powder with a spatula or spoon. Once it's mostly incorporated, whip to combine.

6

Spoon the butter into the bail jars and enjoy! Store it in a dry, cool place. If you live in a very hot climate, you may want to store this butter in the fridge to prevent melting.
